Every year when summer was over I would go back to school and I knew that people would want to know what I have done or learned over the Summer. Today, a song I had purchased for my boys came on and I began to think.
Phineas and Ferb is an amazing show about two brothers who spend their summers doing outrageous things (104 days of summer vacation and the annual problem is finding a good way to spend it). They build robots, take trips and build roller coasters while their older sister is intent on busting them.
The song, Summer belongs to You, is based on the fact that the boys travel around the world in one day using the time changes to reset the clock so that it happens in one hour. Sound implausible or impossible….
Yesterday, four people chose to make the change between life and death at Hope Community Church. They chose to follow Christ and become carbon copies of Him in this world. The implausible and impossible was accomplished. Broken humanity was regenerated and started a new life. God showed himself in an amazing and tangible way.
Candace says to Phineas: And you gotta believe in something, So today I believed in you And you came through….
Danny says to God: And you gotta believe in something, So today I believed in you And you came through…
I traveled halfway ’round the world
And almost turned and ran away
But you helped me get my courage back
So now I’ve got to say
That though I’ve often thought of you
As just a nuisance and a bother
Today I can’t imagine
Having better little brothers
And you gotta believe in something
So today I believed in you
And you came through, we made it
I’ve never been so proud (never been so proud)
I know at first it seemed implausible
But we accomplished the impossible
Now there’s something that I’ve got to say out loud
Time is what you make of it, so take a chance
