Often times, we believe that change is a bad thing. We think that moving or leaving or growing will move beyond where we are, cause us to leave those we know and love or grow to a place we can no longer stay where we are. The truth of the matter is that change will do all of those things. God gives us the opportunity to choose change.
Without change and growth, we grow stagnant and begin to despise all the things we see around us. We become judgmental and begin to long for the good ole days. We begin to limit our options to grow beyond the brokenness we now experience.
Change will happen. The only choice we have is how we will face it. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, there are those of us who can choose more than a judgemental attitude and spirit. We can choose more than being stagnant. Paul tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2).”
Think about that for a second. God’s good and pleasing will can only found when change has us by the throat. Only when we are transformed. Well then, let’s do this…..
